The project consists of the design and construction of new Garrison utility upgrades for the Afghanistan National Army (ANA) in, Kunduz Province, Afghanistan to support basing additional organizational elements of the 209th Corps. The project is defined as the design, material, labor, and equipment to construct utilities upgrades for a design population of approximately 4,500 personnel. The work included all the civil (including geotechnical), mechanical, electrical and structural design elements required for the construction of the utility upgrades.

 All utility system capacities, including total power plant generation, accommodate the additional organization elements population, Master Plan, for a total garrison capacity of 4,500 people.

OHG as the prime contractor of this SITE ADAPT for this project provided all material, labor and equipment to complete this project on time and within budget.

Narrative

  • Construction of new package wastewater plant site access and parking surface, plant foundation, and sludge lift station and yard piping
  • Modification of the existing raw sewage lift station to add a third pump bay to provide influent pumping capacity to the new package WTT
  • Construction of new sludge drying beds
  • Construction of a new head works (including bar screen and grit chamber) and demolition of the existing head works
  • Replacement and installation of additional pump capacity in the main lift station as needed
  • Installation of a flow totalizer in the main lift station discharge pipe line
  • Replacement and installation of additional pump capacity in the effluent lift station as needed
  • Replacement and installation of additional pump capacity in the sand filter lift station as needed
  • Construction of yard piping and appurtenances for conveyances such as sludge drying bed drain to the raw sewage lift station
  • Realignment and construction of road system within the new and existing WWTP sites
