GreenTech was awarded the Design and Construction of a WTP including 4,200,000 liter per day Water Treatment Plant, 4,200,000 liter Potable Water Storage Tank(s) and a 3,000 liter/minute Water Booster Station for Kabul Military Training Center in 2007. In early 2008 Omran was awarded a contract to expand the WWTP capacity of Kabul Military Training Center.  The WTP subcontract consists of the design, procurement, shipping, and installation of the following:

Narrative

  • 4,200,000 liter per day Water Treatment Plant
  • 4,200,000 liter Potable Water Storage Tank(s)
  • 3,000 liter/minute Water Booster Station

Performed tasks

  • Foundations;
  • Plant Startup and Operator Training
  • Water Pipeline from the source to WTP;
  • Water Pipeline from WTP to the main water distribution network;
  • Water Boaster Pump Station;
  • Installation of all equipment related to WTP;
  • Installation of Steel Bolted Water Reservoirs (2 x 2100 m3) with all equipments
  • Installation of Chlorine Disinfection System

Back then the existing Waste Water Treatment Plant (WWTP) at Kabul Military Training Center (KMTC) was operating at full capacity during parts of the day and under capacity at other times. Omran was tasked to equalize the flow through the treatment plant at a more constant rate throughout any given day. The challenge was that the existing WWTP had to be maintained in operation throughout the construction. The General Requirements of the project included the following:

  • Design
  • Equalization tank, 12 M diameter, 5M sidewall;
  • Floating mixer, Aqua-Aerobics DDM Mixer;
  • Duplex pump station, 60M3/hour at 2 to 5
  • feet of head, with VFD drives;
  • Site piping modifications;
  • Electrical modifications;
  • Civil Site Work; Fencing;
  • Structures;
  • Startup, Training, Warrantee
