Regional Military Training Center (RMTC) consisted of the construction for completion of the Afghanistan National Army Regional Military Training Center (RMTC) adjacent to the Corps Support Battalion (CSB) at Camp Hero, Kandahar Province, Afghanistan.

This project consisted of the specified site-adaptation, site design, infrastructure design, and construction of a partially constructed for the campus facility which will house approximately 3,000 personnel consisting of trainees and staff.

Site Master planning was utilized from the 35% submission with changes to the WWTP and Substation areas. Force protection consists of perimeter fence, an anti-vehicle ditch, and a stone wall. Anti Terrorist/Force Protection (ATFP) setbacks for buildings from interior roadways have not been incorporated.

The original Design-Build project for the RMTC has been partially Constructed. OHG as the prime contractor of this DESIGN-BID-BUILD for this project supplied all material, provided labor and equipment to complete this project. 

Narrative

  • Average daily demand for a single person is 190 liter /day.
  • 80% of the domestic water usage converted to sewage flow.
  • The site population assumed to be 3000 people (+ 750 for future expansion).
  • For the analysis the flow assumed steady state.
  • The gravity sewer system assumes no pressure flow. The maximum depth of flow inside
  • The pipe not exceed 70% of the diameter of the pipe for building connections and 80% for laterals and main trunk lines.
  • The capacity factor was assumed to be 2.
  • The slopes required to meet the velocity based on the AED Design for Sanitary Sewer and Septic Systems along
  • The sanitary system to be approximately 7.7m at the main lift station prior to the waste water treatment plant.
  • Smaller lift stations upstream of the main lift station were added to minimize the depth of the sanitary lines.
